BLACK MONEY ISN'T BLACK

When I first heard of black money I was in ninth class I wondered what the hell is black money and  I thought the money may be black in colour.I felt bad that I have never seen black money as we weren't rich enough to have that kind of money. Later when I found out what that means I laughed at my ignorance. I also found out that only select few in our country have black money and they stash away money obtained through illegal activities or in black market or earn income with out paying taxes to the government.

All persons try to help rich persons,  though they are smuggler, black marketeer, and even those who are involved in hawala market bringing in the money for terror activities. Now this black list is with the government for sometime and its given adequate time for the defaulters to transfer their money or cover their tracks. One can also expect black money changing hands from one account to another black account to remove their  name from the black list unless one is really dumb.

Now I think how such huge quantities of money crossed our border with out coming to the notice of tax authorities. How a person was earning and stashing away huge amount of money with out paying taxes to the government. There is a nexus here. Instead of focusing on who is having what amount, our government should focus on how to reduce this scourge. Justifications such as "its not illegal to have a account in a foreign country" will not suffice. This list is prepared not because the concerned individual is having a account in foreign country but the mind boggling amount of money in their account is the real reason. Instead of prolonging the case the government should submit all the names to the Supreme Court and action may be initiated to bring back the money.

The biggest source of funny money has been real estate transactions. If one observes how real estate deals are done in our country its easy to understand. Instead of searching for black money in foreign accounts we could do better if tax man focuses more on the big real estate deals and also on small deals because its become a way of life and it should be changed.

After getting the list six years back and expecting the crooks to hold their money in the same bank is a joke. and if a person who has not moved his money is really dumb or his money is legitimate or he is dead. By naming a select few I don't think it will help anybody except for the name-and-shame tactics. If you follow the news channel one can see how brazenly this accused are denying they have any foreign accounts.

I only wish our authorities wake up from deep slumber and focus on how to stop this illegal activities and refrain people from tax evasion.

A SCOURGE CALLED DEBT WAIVER

I was watching a Telugu movie 'Tagore' where in Puneet Issar casted as a police officer calls Telugu people as emotional fools. Then an emotional Prakash Raj answers him that Telugu people have never failed their leaders but the leaders have always let them down. This conversation  is  absolutely apt for the present situation that is existing in Andhra Pradesh.

Our political leaders are adept at making blatant promises which act as a catalyst in elections to get them into power. Even the present CM who declares himself as a economist had made so many promises during that period he even published a book to remember all of them(fun intended). A person who had earned respect by taking Hyderabad to the International level through his economics and strategy had done so many blunders he is unable to bear the mountain of promises he made to people of Andhra.  Even he would have not predicted while making this empty promises that nor his opposition that debt waiver can land him in power. As soon as he landed in the seat he was desperate for the last ten years, he found out that this time his tenure will not be a piece of cake.

He is good economist that part is agreed but how a good economist can help our economy by asking people not to pay their debt starting immediately and as soon as he is in power he will waive all their debts amounting to more than one lakh crore. People took the bait with out thinking how a state which is starting with a deficit can waive their debts. I had the privilege to speak to some farmers who strongly believed that this will be done on the first day by our CM and i asked them how? They thought for a second and said he is very rich and he will clear our debts from his pocket. Poor farmer would have realised now that no leader pays from his pocket. Till the time we have people who are not smart enough to realise that its their money  that is used, they will be fooled repeatedly.

Now who ever have believed in empty promises are realising the hard way that  they have to pay the debts themselves added with a bonus of interest for the period that is lapsed and now have to forget insurance in the HudHud hit coastal areas for their crops. Who are to be blamed? How can we improve this situation? Do people really believe that any party can make their lives better? my answer is a big NO. Its people who are really responsible who can bring about a change, by not falling prey to false promises.

Can we entirely pin the blame on politicians as we all know through experience that they succeed  to fool us in every elections. Are the public really innocent? No they too are cheating the politicians by taking money from all the parties who are contesting and voting for one party.

PRAISING IS INJURIOUS TO YOUR POST

Beware you party men of India the 'diktat' is out. praise your own lord not the opponent. Shashi Tharoor,  former minister and MP from kerala, will realise it the hard way that praising one's opponent is more sinister than flaying one's own master.Does it really matters if one praises PM of the country and i am not able to fathom how it can hurt somebodies(party worker's) sentiments. When will our party men evolve from this petty politics and start appreciating the good work of others. I know opposition should be or may be critical of Govt. policies but it doesn't mean one cannot even praise. We are in living in democracy and I feel everyone has the right to speak what he thinks freely but our upbringing is such that we aren't kind to those who praise our enemies. Now I realise why my wife doesn't approve when I appreciate other women.

Poor Tharoor, he may be having nightmares and wondering what in the earth has he done to be removed from a post. Post elections congressmen openly flayed Rahul for the debacle but they all are in the party but one praise  a man is out from the post. The great politics!

This is not about any party and I am not with any party. If you see in Maharastra the eternal twins BJP and SENA got seperated and now SENA thinks BJP a enemy out to destroy Maharastra. Then why did they stay married together for 25 yrs and recently they fought Loksabha elections together. Why cann't people apprehend  and make a good choice.

Men who were corrupt survived with out being removed from their post unceremoniously. I really pity Congress party for their childlike behaviour. This highlights the immaturity of our leaders.

CRICKET IS A FUNNY GAME

I woke up today to read in newspaper that India has won the match by 48 runs.Oh God!I rubbed my eyes to see if its old paper but the date is of today only. How is it possible ? When I switched off my TV seething in anger at the prospect of India  losing the match with huge margin again West Indies were comfortably placed with 150/1.
I always feel that I am weak hearted whenever I watch India on the brink of losing its cricket match. I do know that its only a sport and 'winning' and 'losing' is part of the game. but I hate to admit that I don't like to see India losing like any other Indian.

West Indies team is full of talent and wonders. Its unpredictable and has the knack to lose the matches that it could have won easily.(i am not complaining) Earlier India  had this knack and i was left heartbroken many a times. But the team is coming of ages in ODI and T20's but still lagging in Test cricket.

IRONY OF NOBEL PEACE PRIZE

I would like to congratulate the winners of this year's nobel peace prize.India's Kailash Satyarthi and Pakistan's Malala Yousafzai were awarded the Nobel peace prize 2014 jointly for "showing great personal courage and in their struggle against the suppression of children and for the right of all children to education".

The irony is both countries are raining bullets and motor shells on each other which are not directed only at elders but at children and their schools too . Where will they go for education ? What is the use of our political leaders heaping praises on them when they can not guarantee a enjoyable childhood to our children. Atleast now pakistan should wakeup and own malala and her achievements by contributing towards girl education in pakistan. India too have to wake up from its slumber and have to do something about children who are working as labourers instead of enjoying their childhood.

As always my inquisitive brain started thinking who is this malala(read her name while preparing for competitive exams) and who is this Satyarthi(honestly i didn't knew about him). A person of the calibre of Satyarthi has not been in spotlight in media while our wily politicians comments do find headlines. whose fault is this?

Malala is a child activist  born in hell(ofcourse its pakistan) who stood up to face the bullets of the militants who are opposed to education, particularly girl's education. She has been shot in the head and by miracle and by the good work of the doctors of England she survived to tell the story of her life, to encourage child education all over the world. I wondered if she was not born in Pakistan would anybody know about Malala. My answer is NO. yeah, think for a minute that if Malala was born in London, why would she become a child activist instead of enjoying her childhood where children are free to pursue education, play their games and enjoy their childhood. But the whole world especially US is closing eyes, attacking the province daily with drones and destroying the infrastructure of schools along with killings of thousands of small children. The spineless government of Pakistan is no good with army calling the shots there. From tough situations do leaders come out. There were thousands of girls who were afraid of militants and didn't even venture out to go to school forget about facing the militants. But the catch point here is if she were still anywhere in Pakistan she would have faced a violent death instead of all awards that are coming her way. Its because of the western media efforts her story has reached  the world and made her the youngest recipient of the Nobel prize.

India has achieved her freedom long back but still it has largest number of enslaved people according to a survey. I read the news and  started wondering how can they claim India is enslaved and then realised its true. If we see around us and start peeping in to ourselves we may realise that many of us are leading a life as slaves. slaves to work, our habbits, our temptations, our relations and to our careers. In the same way our media is also slave to TRP ratings. A rapist, a smuggler and even a terrorist interests them more than a social activist and his work. What Ajmal kasab had for his lunch, dinner and how he died we know all this but there is no dedicated page for social activists who fight alone anonymously and we get know about them only when they are recognised by foreign countries and agencies. Satyarthi, who had founded the Bachpan Bachao Andolan in 1980, has been a relentless crusader for child rights. Now we can find the photo of this gentleman in headlines of every Indian newspaper.(and will be forgetten in few days except for candidates preparing for competitive exams)  Minutes after Satyarthi's name was announced, the website of his NGO 'Bachpan Bachao Andolan' crashed due to heavy traffic. Sadly, till yesterday Kailash was little known in his own country.

What I am trying to imply is how we can help this children who are burning their life working in dangerous places and jobs which a adult should have been doing. Modiji should also take note of this and save all the children from bonded labour and give them a good life by strictly implementing the right to education act. I request my fellow Indians to unshackle themselves from slavery and start living and enjoying their life doing some good work which benefits our society.

MY LOVELY SONS

I have two sons harsh who is nine years old and kunal who is about two years. Waking up early morning seeing them inter wined with each other like twigs makes my day and thats how I want them to remain. I am an early riser and wanna have bed tea and my wife is a late riser and when i wake her up for tea she seethes with anger(now changed a lot though she doesn't smile)and that anger is enough to burn my heart to ashes. but i am helpless as any person who is addicted to the CHAI. mostly my mornings are peaceful(i love it that way) and  i am at my productive best in the morning.

I always think why i am born and why i behave the way i behave. So i searched and read a lot of books till i found my solace in "THE MONK WHO SOLD HIS FERRARI". Though i couldnt understand it when i read it for the first time but when i started to understand the book my life has changed for good. its my constant companion and i read it when ever i get time. while reading that book i realised how badly i was behaving with my sons and the realisation has changed me and still bad habbits dont leave you.
